A New Blog
Here’s another blog about someone’s half-baked ideas about the world.
This time it’s me. Not that I’m any more relevant than anyone else, and you have no more reason to read my blog than the next person pouring their half-baked thoughts into their keyboard.
So why read my blog?
Good question, and I can’t answer it, but my reasons for writing are to try out this new blogging system, Jekyll. It’s pretty cool. I write my blog post in my text editor, Emacs, using Markdown, a simple way to organise the text you write, then the run Jekyll and it turns the text file into HTML ready to upload to your server.
It sounds complicated, but it really isn’t. I can automate the uploading of the file with a simple script on Linux, and just having to create a text file allows me to concentrate on actually writing.
That means there is no excuse for being anything but interesting.
So here it goes. Let’s see what happens.
